In nominal terms, the United States is the first economy in the world and second, after China, considering values at purchasing power parity (PPP). In terms of per capita values (PPP), United States is one of the main economies in the world. In the 40 years from 1980 to 2020 the US economy grew consistently faster than Chile, South America, Europe and China, among others.
The World Bank has developed a methodology, which measures the ease of doing business in 190 of the world’s economies. This methodology is based on measuring the regulations that affect the activity of creating and doing business. This is not an investment guide but can be useful when evaluating investment alternatives beyond our borders.

Following a record-breaking year in 2021, momentum has continued into 10 22, with volume increasing 56.4% to $63.0 billion which is a record high first quarter volume. Pent-up investor demand, record fundraising activity and positive fundamentals growth driven by strong tenant demand and inflation have all contributed to the activity. Continued demand for product in fast-growing markets has reduced the cap rate spread with major markets to 11 basis points.
